First time up

Wow, this is exciting! A little about me - I'm a single mom to two girls, living in NYC, working part-time, and in my spare (!) time I am studying flying and static trapeze, I knit, as well as a variety of other pursuits. So this blog will be mostly about my extra-curricular activities, a way for me to connect with other aerialists, with knitters, and with whomever else is interested!

I've been flying since October 2003, and became addicted to it in my first class. It still is one of my favorite things to do, and as many flyers I know say, a bad day flying is still better than a day without flying! In November 2006, I started taking static trapeze on a pretty regular basis. Although not as thrilling as flying trapeze, it has its own beauty, and I've started trying to put together a piece to music. Since I'm not totally confident in my ability/strength, it's been taking a while, but I hope to get something together by the end of June, especially if I manage to work on it twice a week...

Once I figure out this blogging thing, I'll try to post pictures of trapeze and knitting. The knitting is going slowly now, since I only work on it during "idle time" That used to be train rides, TV time, line time, etc. However, since I've decided to study for the GRE, I'm lucky if I get much knitting time. Still, right now I'm working on a shawl, and socks. Both are nearing the point of completion, and when they are, I've got 2-3 other projects lined up. (Another shawl, socks, and a cardigan/jacket thing, if gauge works out...) I haven't allowed myself to start anything else until the current projects are done, because otherwise I'd have dozens of unfinished projects around the house. As it it, I have many, and I certainly don't want to add to them!

Anyway, enough rambling for now.
Signing out.
