Memorial Day weekend

Here's what I did this weekend:

Yep, I built a wall (specifically, the one with the plants in it. The one closer to the road has been there for a hundred years, I am told), and planted the plants in front of it. Very labor-intensive, and very fun. Thanks to Linda and Fred for allowing me to play gardener for the weekend. I definitely intend to take you up on the invite to do it again sometime soon.

We spent Memorial Day weekend up at their place, and a great time was had by all. The children played together beautifully; Fiji romped around and got to chase birds.

(Here's a picture of him at a quieter moment:)

And I got to dig in the dirt, drink lots of wine, enjoy the company of some wonderful people, and catch up on the enormous sleep deficit that I've racked up this month. A good time was definitely had by all.

As for knitting, although there were hours and hours of that going on, and although I had, in a bout of foolish optimism, hoped to have something to show for this weekend's work, since I'm still and forever on the ruffle of the shawl, at about 2000 stitches per row, it is still not completed. I'll keep plugging away at it, although enthusiasm is definitely waning.

Tomorrow: the new intensive fly class. We'll be learning bar tricks, and playing. I'm definitely looking forward to it!
