No news is... no news

So I was feeling guilty and lame for not posting over the past week or so, but really, this is pretty much what my life looked like:

Wake up
Eat
Computer / Clean up
Eat
Sleep
Eat
Beach
Eat
Sleep

Lots of eating, lots of sleeping, and lots of time at the beach. I feel positively sloth-like and not at all like my hyperactive self. Part of it was probably jet lag, and part of it was that my body just really needed a break, and so it took one, whether my mind was on board with the program or not.

There were, of course, a few other diversions...Israeli Folk Dancing, visiting friends in Caesarea, going to the pool, visiting with famioly, and reading the latest Harry Potter book (cover to cover yesterday, I'll reread it again at a slower pace), however, not my usual speed at all.

Today, though, the Things went to camp!! I was worried because last year I put them in the same group, so that Thing 1 could help Thing 2 communicate, as Thing 1 speaks better Hebrew, and this year I decided to separate them, so that they could be with their appropriate age group, so that they can gain more out of the experience and have a sense of independence, and hopefully confidence in their Hebrew skills.

I am happy to report that the first day of camp was a rousing success. Thing 2 has made a friend, who she says is teaching her some Hebrew, and whom she is teaching English. She also reports that she understood most of what was said to her, and that she had fun.

Thing 1 has two potential friends (as she is slow to warm up to people, I take that as a very positive sign!), and that she understood almost everything, unless her counselors were speaking "real Hebrew" whatever that means.

SO.. tomorrow, I'm signing up for the gym, and will try to create some sort of order to my days, which will hopefully include time at the beach, and studying as well as working out. Today I went over to my cousin's house, and what I expected to be a quick visit ended up with me staying much longer than planned and dogsitting. No worries, though. It meant plenty of study time!

As for pics, the screen on my camera broke, and I'll price cameras here, before deciding whether to get a replacement in Israel or NYC, so in the interim (and this is another reason for the limited posting) there won't be any pics unfortunately.

Anyway, that's life here. I'm kind of wondering what is going on in NYC, and how Getaway was, but the usual blogs seem to have fallen silent...

Getaway was excellent - the weather held and everyone was in fine fettle although I think we pretty much rung Jeff, Dino and Bobby dry. I found some strands of wool close to the rig and imagined that you were with us in spirit!

What are you studying for?
