Get up and move!

I wasn't feeling it this morning - not at all. Too many drinks last night when I got together with Ravid. Although I made sure to hydrate throughout, and through the night, getting up this morning was rough. Motivating to go out and run was even tougher. It was a good reminder of why I don't drink very often.

So where does that motivation come from, after a late night, a queasy morning, when I don't wake up all perky and excited to log in my minutes? I'm not sure - I'm still trying to figure it out. I do know, that when I finally did get my ass in gear and go run, I had a blast! I started off slow - much slower than my recent pace. I was scared that I wouldn't be able to get through the entire 35 minutes. Of course, 26 minutes in, I realized that it was completely doable, and when I hit the 33 minute mark, I couldn't believe I only had two more minutes to run. By then, even though I had picked up the pace, it still wasn't enough for me to be running at a decent average clip - 10:05 minute miles on average - very disappointing to me. BUT knowing that I had much more run in me with a lot more juice than I had been giving it until that point definitely helped my morale.

I think the more frequently I push through the lack of motivation, the less there will be, since once I get going it's so much better than I dreaded it would be. Sometimes, you just have to plow through it, I think, without the inspiration.

I followed that up with a quick post-run brunch at Whole Foods - but actually wasn't too hungry, so just downed some salmon and quinoa, and a little bit of coconut water.

The back home, for some rest, a quick shower before I pulled out my bicycle and rode down to TSNY for trampoline with Matt. We worked primarily on full twisting from my back and porpoises - getting both tricks clean and high. Then it was time to ride back home, and rest a little bit more before heading back down to TSNY for trapeze!

I didn't think I'd make it through class, considering the day I'd had, but surprisingly, I did - practicing layouts, fulls, and finally the cutaway rudy as a last huzzah.

It was a great day all around, and terrific to know that my stamina is improving!
