Time for that Omelette

I love Thursdays. I love spin class with our hardcore instructor who makes us do climbs for at least 45/60 minutes, challenges me and pushes me to my limit. I love that there are no regularly-scheduled after-school plans, and that we can just be. I love flying, of course, and going out afterwards. I love open workouts and being inspired by all the aerialists that come to train. I love knowing that the next day is Friday, and that after Friday morning, I have two days without 6:30 AM wake ups.

Today was a particularly good Thursday. Aside from the usual, it was hot, and I love the heat. Plus I got to pick up A from school, and I love walking across the park on the way back. Plus the moon was full, yellow and full of mystery. It helped explain why I was in such a quirky mood.

In flying news, Dino says that I should give up on the Espana swing. I'm not quite ready to do that yet. I know that it has been an off week in the swing department. I need to go back to its basics and really focus on it for it to be where it was when I learned it. But I really don't think that I have gotten all that I can out of it. Besides, it is well known that I "get" a new concept the first few times, and then have to slowly, painfully relearn it. I guess the issue is whether it's worth it. I think it is: 1. it makes sense to me on a visceral level 2. no one else around me is doing it. (anti-competition!)

Came out of the planche (WTF?!? Back to basics!) Chickened on my mod after a kickass uprise (that still needs work)

But. Here's the omelette...
The flexus is back!

First attempt:

Belt wouldn't turn, the lines got crossed, so no catch...

But after a nice blow and lube job...
(drumroll)

My first flexus flexus round trip!!

I will bask in its joy. Tomorrow I will remember the numerous areas which are in dire need of improvement.

(and for Marisa... thank you o goddess of the trapeze for believing in me :-)

I didn't say quit doing the e-swing, but that you needed to up your efforts or combine the best of the two styles. Man, I wonder what else you girls hear differently than how I mean it...?! xo

Galit....I miss flying with you. It's not the same without you making sure I get up the ladder and into my belt timely. : ).

Galit, congrats on the flexus-flexus round trip! Sorry I missed that one in person - it looked great!
