Whips and Rains...

I had a nice shower on the way to Streb tonight, and arrived there thoroughly soaked through. It was kind of nice, though, flying a little damp. For the first time in a while I wasn't hot.

Sam W and Amy G/W, both of whom I haven't seen for a while were there, and it was nice catching up with them. Sam had flown in the earlier class, but just hung out for ours, while Amy was showing what a strong flyer she has become over the past couple of months.

I warmed up, then did a few mods, just so I wouldn't get the feeling of them out of my body. Then Dino suggested that I stretch my limits, so I dusted off my b/e whip, but with a twist... (uh, Dino, did you see the stuff that guy can throw? Might be beyond me for the next few years...) then, way too soon, it was catch time. Since I was in a whippy mood, I threw Manny my flexus, and got into a flexus on him as well, but didn't get the return bar (my fault -- it feels very different on him than on Dino)

(video courtesy of Amy. Thank you Amy!)

And then, ended the evening on a bizarre note -- released the flexus with one hand only. I have never, ever done that before. It was definitely time to pack it in.

Sorry that there is not much video. My battery was dead, and I don't have it together enough to have a spare, much less one fully charged.

Oh, and since this is supposed to be about knitting too, I'm still plugging away on that shawl that I started way back when. I figure that even if I do a little at a time, it's better than leaving it on the shelf and giving up. Besides, there are a bunch of projects that I want to start, but won't let myself until the shawl is done.

And, in honor of the twisted whip, and ruffley shawl frusturations, todays quote:

"It is a paradoxical but profoundly true and important principle of life that the most likely way to reach a goal is to be aiming not at that goal itself but at some more ambitious goal beyond it."
Arnold Toynbee, English Historian/Historical Philosopher

Happy Solstice, all.
