Restless

Didn't get to fly on my birthday yesterday. It's the first year since I've started flying that I haven't flown on my birthday. Oh well, I had planned on being in Las Vegas this weekend, and wouldn't have flown if I was there either (although I would have seen some wicked circus...)

Didn't fly today either, since I was working all day long.

Then tonight, I bumped into the one individual who has the ability to fluster me. (Didn't expect that I'd still get flustered by him. But moreso now than before. Why?) Makes me remember why that wall is up in the first place. So, since now I can't sleep, some pics and a video for your entertainment. (And a poll, if I can figure out how to get it on my blog...)

So here is a picture of the sunset on the way to Streb. I love heading there from the subway as the sun is going down... It's simultaneously peaceful and full of energy.

Here's a picture of the shawl that I've been knitting since the winter. Don't know how I feel about the picture, but the shawl came out really nice...

A gift from Elena G. for the Things!

And below is a gift from me to Elena: video coverage of your cut catch! I know you've done it many times off camera, but thought you might want it on camera as well.

If you all want to entertain me a bit (and let me know that someone is actually reading this blog!), please respond to the poll in the sidebar. Trapeze is an analogy for all sorts of things, it seems, but particularly appropriate for the issue of vulnerability.

At another point I may explore on this blog the ways in which trapeze is a safe venue for exploring one's relationship with risk, whether physical or emotional. However, we all know this, to varying degrees, I think. For now, suffice it to say that flying has helped me deal with some of the most emotionally challenging years of my life. And even with trapeze, I sometimes feel like I'm teetering...

Speaking of which, I need to work all day tomorrow. Yes, it's Sunday, but there's a lot to get done before I head to Israel next week. In order to cope with the idea of sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours straight working on something I abhor, I've signed up for the first class of the day at TSNY. Cross your fingers!
