Xmas in Belize

As a last minute trip, I took the girls to Belize for the first week of winter break.  It took a while to plan and organize because their sister was due on December 23, so I thought it likely that we wouldn't be going anywhere so that the girls could be around for her birth.  But Yuval was considerate enough to be born early, and we immediately scrambled to make travel plans.

Ultimately I found an air/hotel package through BookIt.com for ridiculously little.  We stayed at a place called duPlooy's Jungle Lodge located a half hour from the Guatemala border, and situated right next to a botanical garden.  and though we didn't go to the beach, snorkeling or scuba diving, our days were chock full of adventure.  We went hiking, cave tubing, river tubing, horseback riding, to see Mayan ruins at Tikal... we saw arakari, kinkajous, chachalakas, and had an overall good time.

Here are some photos.
