The girls and I are off on a fabulous adventure for their winter break. It will be the first time since this summer that we get to spend extended amounts of FUN time together, and I am really looking forward to it. We have been way too busy with school, work, after school programs, homework, visits to dad, etc. to just enjoy being with each other.
Add to that limited tv and internet options, uncharted (by us) territories, and a company that knows how to organize a fabulous trip, and we're talking about fun times ahead. There will be built-in opportunities for me to swim and bike, and I'm going to challenge myself to find plenty of opportunities for the run. Next week, my run-mileage is supposed to be at 100%, including my first 20-miler, so that will be a challenge, and may require a degree of flexibility well outside my comfort zone.
I'm not telling you where we're going, just that there will be hiking, mountain-biking, kayaking, and snorkeling with white-tipped reef sharks, swimming (hopefully with penguins or sea lions). There should be lots of pictures on the other side of this, and I hope we all return renewed, refreshed and ready to tackle all that 2012 will bring.
